Šimon Štefanec: For the first time in A!

Šimon Štefanec´s great performance in the jersey of HELAS Verona came to attention of theA-team HELAS Verona´s coaching staff. The former player of Žilina and Slovan Bratislava got nominated to a team for Italian Cup duel against Bologna FC (0: 4).

Šimon, when did you become aware that you are traveling with an A?

– On Tuesday. On Wednesday three of us from Primavera trained with A group. After that, we learned that all three of us got to 23-members nomination traveling to a duel in the Italian Cup.

Your immediate feeling?

– Great, great. I was very happy.

What was your program? Have You already traveled to Bologna on Wednesday night?

– No, because Bologna is from us located only 150 km. We met on Thursday morning at nine. We had training, lunch, then we moved to the hotel where we had a smaller concentration before a duel.

The Primavera You play with seven. What jersey number you got in A?

– They gave me seventeen.

Due to Marek Hamšík?

– I do not know (smile) …

Did You swap your jersey after the match?

– No, I saved it as a remebrance. It´s a first A-group duel jersey isn´t it?

What meant for you to be nominated to A?

– Another big motivation to work even harder so that I can play regularly for A.
