It was a sad season in Naples

After the last league match Marek moved to Senec, where he reported at the camp of the Slovak national team in the qualifying duel against Macedonia.

Napoli  won the Italian Super Cup this season, but failed in the Italian Cup, the Europa League and did not do it even into the Champions League. Can we talk about disappointments?

– Although in a number of competitions we got closer to the final victory at the end it was a sad season. We dropped out in the semifinals of the European League and Italian Cup, we have lost the decisive match of the Champions League. And it certainly hurts … That is football, such things happen. We are aware fact we have not done what we could and we all went home sad.

They can at least enjoy your personal statistics …

– Oh, yeah. I tied a record for goals in a season (thirteen) and I was the best in Assists in Serie A (ten). But you know me … For me, the most important is the collective achievements. Of course I was not happy with my time of play, it was not too good. I am a player who always wants to play. If I had not been on the field, I could not be satisfied. As a professional, I know I have to deal with it, keep my head up and think positive.

How was the parting with coach Benitez?

– Normal, professional. We shook hands.

What are your plans for the summer?

– I don´t think about relax yet. We have a qualifying duel against Macedonia before us. With teammates we want to do our best to gain three points. I will relax after June 15

And you go to the sea?

– I will be particularly at home, I will also receive some exhibitions. We are going also to Turkey.

How long you have your vacation?

– In Naples our preparation for the new season will begin in the first half of July
